As you approach the tiny island of Kandolhu by speedboat from Malé, you’re presented with an idyllic vision of the classic Maldive hideaway.  The wooden jetty reaches past the island’s colourful coral reefs into turquoise waters, framed by sugary curves of a white sand beach.
